You can find an interesting scene in the street of Paris: one batch after another of Japanese visitors rushing into the shop of Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Hermes and so on with their cameras. They look extremely excited and crazy with their wallet in hands which is full of money. Most of them seemed to have reached the shopping heaven of their dreams. However, they are absolutely not just taking a visit, they are coming to Paris for their final purpose of purchasing luxuries. For example, they swarm around the Louis Vuitton store and point to a row of latest Louis Vuitton handbags or luggages on the showcase and shout to the sellers: I’d love to buy all these bags! However, the French seller will respond with a sneer: no more than three for everyone. But it can’t stop the step of Japanese to be crazy about these luxuries.
Nowadays, the stereotype of Japanese has been well-known in the world, the global people know that Japanese are extremely crazy about luxuries. According to a resent research, more than 70 percent Japanese males and nearly 90 percent Japanese females own luxury brand goods. Burberry is the NO. 1 luxury brand in the ranking in Japan, and Louis Vuitton is the second one, Gucci and Coach are the third.
As we know Tokyo is one of the most modern and fashionable cities in the world like Paris, London, New York. It will be not difficult for you to understand why lots luxury brands can be found in Tokyo. Actually, you can not only find them in Tokyo, but also in other Japanese cities, although they are not rich and advanced enough. No matter high-income White-collar workers or only a ordinary middle school students, you can find they are walking or drink with their Louis Vuitton handbags or Hermes wallets. Is that surprise you that almost the whole Japanese are indulging in luxuries. You can’t image that why they are so crazy about luxuries ?How can they afford these expensive things? In Japan, people are not willing to be special and particular from ordinary Japanese. Once a person use a Burberry handbag, his or her friend will buy the same one as if a Burberry handbag can be a ticket to this circle. In order to get this expensive ticket, some of them are willing to spend the whole monthly salary for a Gucci handbag, some of them even do something illegal just for a little Coach wallet.
In summary, Japanese have a complicated relationship with luxuries, you cannot make too clear about it. You can try to realize it from lots of aspect.
