I actually live in Tokyo, but this year is tough cause?
I have to study Japanese and according to the grades I get I get sent to a university in Japan, so I have to stay home and study. And when I just stay in my room (which is very small, to be honest) I get depressed just being by myself. Thanks for the advice with the English stuff, I will try to see if it works. How did you get used to living in Japan? Did you ever feel like going back home?
I studied at Waseda University in Tokyo, and it was hard getting accustomed to the Japanese culture at first. In fact, it took me four months before I began feeling “comfortable”.
My best advice for you is to study in the university library if you’re room is too small to the point where it henders you from concentrating on your work. If the environment in which you’re studying isn’t feasible in a way where you are able to concentrate and understand what you’re studying, then you’re merely wasting your time, per say. Many of the universities in Tokyo have 24 hour libraries or computer labs or places where you can study all day. Utilize them. If not, find a coffee shop near your place of residence and study there until it closes.
Enjoy your stay in Tokyo for as long as it lasts! My only regret is that I did not spend enough time practicing my Japanese with natives as well as not spending much time making friends with the Japanese and exploring cool places that you may not know about together with them.
