spanish language course spain
What’s the best way to become fluent in Spanish?

I am already almost fluent in French, but I have absolutely no knowledge of Spanish. I’m an 18-year-old female. I’m planning on taking beginner Spanish courses in university, and I’m going to Spain next summer. What else can I do? Language CDs don’t really work for me (I tried learning Romanian with them, and ended up not retaining anything).
I live in Canada.

I am a teacher from Spain and I always recommend Assimil, this method is so different from other CDs methods, it teaches you real spanish from Spain, from the first lessons you find real and colloquial expressions used in everyday life, the grammar approach of this method is also very innovative, this is not the usual language course that starts with “my name is”…, it is like an immersion in the spanish culture.

you can also take spanish lessons and look for a language exchange with a native speaker. Skype is a great program to practice languages.
