Just about everyone would like to be more intelligent and learning languages is a good way to do that. Of course you could take a college course, read some books, or go to a seminar but a language makes you think in a whole new way. One of the best ways to do this is to spanish for fun.
Learning languages forces your mind to associate completely new words with familiar meanings which makes improves your ability to communicate more effectively. The difference in how those words sound compared to words in your native language also forces your brain to pick out different sounds and recognize them more than you previously would. Since Spanish is one of the Romance Languages, learning it will open the door to being able to learn some of the other languages more easily as well. One of the nice things with Spanish in contrast to many other languages is that it uses letters that will already be familiar to English speaking people. One major hurdle to learning a new language is already behind you. This makes the languages course process even easier when compared to other languages like Arabic, Mandarin, or Russian.
Sentence structure in Spanish is somewhat different than that of English which can pose a small challenge to people trying to learn it. But one great thing about it is that even if you confuse the sentence structure, those you are speaking to or writing to will still be able to figure out what you are trying to say. So don’t worry about this part of learning Spanish.
Spanish does have some things about it that can be challenging to learn however. These are things like conjugating verbs correctly to match the tense you are speaking in, using the correct gender for each noun, and authentic pronunciation. The most important of these is verb conjugation so as long as you concentrate on learning how to do that well, you will be able to speak and understand the language well enough to get by.
The sentence structure in Spanish is somewhat different than English in terms of where adjectives are placed in the sentence compared to the nouns. However, even if you mess up sometimes when speaking, the people that you are speaking to will almost definitely be able to figure out what you are trying to say. You may sound like a gringo but that’s already pretty much expected so it’s nothing to worry about.
The best way to basic spanish words is to simply start and continue to learn on a regular basis. If you can learn something every day and do whatever you can to completely immerse yourself in more and more Spanish, you’ll learn it faster and more easily. It’s not that difficult and it’ll be well worth the effort since you’ll be able to communicate with so many more people as a result of knowing it.
