How hard it is to learn to speak German fluently?
Im American, and 14 years old and am very interested in German culture. So I'm thinking how difficult it is to learn German fluently. Ensure that the learning experience im [I could not think of the right word?] Is different for all, but I'm wondering in general. Thanks =]
German is similar to French or Spanish. That does not mean that learning languages ??is not their own problems, but Germany's problems are different. For me the hardest part is what is called "decline." Basically what this means is that any change in the article or adjective depending on the type of modification, how to use, and gender of the noun. For example, say: Das ist ein Mann. = This is a man. Ich Kenne einen Mann. = I know a man. Ich Gebe einem Mann den ball. = I'm going to give a man the ball. Although it is easy to memorize these changes case is very difficult for me at least to internalize that requires fluency. You do not have time to sit and think. The mastery of any language is a lot of work. A lot more work than they can ever make. Think how long it took to learn English so you can actually have a conversation … Probably at least 10 to 15 years. And it had the advantage of being immersed in the language of 100% of your life. Good luck. Or should I say, Viel Glueck?
