I Would Love To Learn Japanese But Finding The Time Is Hard
Learning Japanese is something that people want to do and they will most probably know why they want to. If you are thinking of going to Japan for a few weeks or on a business trip this is a good reason. You might want to just show off to mates instead of needing to speak the language. If you are able to talk in another language you will be given a wonderful feeling of achievement.
Although I had wanted to learn Japanese for a long time I guess the main reason why I finally decided to do something about it was because I was planning a long trip to Tokyo. 3 months is a long time to just point and nod, so I thought I should make an effort to speak to get by out there. I am often asked whether I can speak Japanese fluently and am not sure what to tell them.
There is so much more I could teach myself when it comes to Japanese and don’t know half as much as I should, even though I can use the language effectively now. I think it’s highly unlikely I will ever know how to speak Japanese fluently. New words and phrases will always crop up that you don’t know. Being able to understand Japanese cartoons or movies now is a sure sign of how far I’ve come. It’s easy in English so why shouldn’t it be in another language as well with practice?
There is still a way to go in my learning but I’m getting there. You are probably wondering how I went from knowing nothing to being able to speak Japanese and watch movies etc. If you want the honest answer, it took many hours of learning and perseverance. If you think it’s going to be easy to do this then you will be mistaken. If you want to learn a language like I have then you will need to fully committed to be able to succeed. I would like to say though that if you have that patience and dedication you can achieve what I have.
Making enough time in your busy schedule mixed in with other things is pretty hard to do. However, with a bit of effort you can study while working out at the gym, for example, or going to work.
