italian course book
Is this enough to learn basic Italian?

I've been using Pimsleur Italian audio course about a week (80 lessons I have yet to go: P) and I also bought a "Teach yourself: Italian Grammar" book. Every day I have been devoting an hour study. Pimselur 30 minutes and 30 minutes for the grammar. Is this enough to get a good understanding of the language? I'm moving to Italy to work in the summer, so I like a good base on it.

Even if you understand it, it should also practice conversation, even if only in your mind or do same. For example, if you are looking for a little milk in the fridge, for example, "Where's the milk?" except to say in Italian. It is very difficult learn a language from books and CDs, no matter what people say. Consider taking a short course in the language before going to Italy to help you feel less overwhelmed. You can have all the lessons of the book, but when it comes to this, you could be at a loss how to say "Where's the bathroom?". Me happens to me in Spanish all the time.
